Our Inspiration
In the ancient oral traditions of Ibalon — the Bikolano homeland — Haliya is a masked lunar warrior and the sworn protector of Bulan, the moon god. Bulan was luminous and gentle, beautiful beyond comparison, but vulnerable. Bakunawa, a colossal sea serpent who rose from the ocean depths, sought to devour him — swallowing the moon whole and casting the world into darkness. It was Haliya who stood between them. She cloaked herself in a golden mask, took up her warrior's purpose, and fought the serpent again and again across the sky. Every eclipse was their battle. Every dawn that followed was her victory.
Her golden mask is not a disguise. It is armor, and a statement. At House of Haliya, we believe there is nothing weak about wanting to feel beautiful. There is power in self-adornment, courage in vanity, and real strength in wearing something that makes you feel like yourself, only more so. Gold does not whisper. Gems do not shrink. And neither should you.
